LAF News

Our Commitment    From all of us at the Landscape Architecture Foundation, we are thinking of you and hope you and your loved ones are safe, healthy, and adapting to the sudden changes brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
As an organization, we’ve implemented the necessary adjustments to safeguard our employees’ and community’s well-being while ensuring the continuity of our programs because we will not let up on our efforts to support the discipline in designing a healthier, more equitable, and sustainable world.
LAF juries are convening virtually to select our 2020 scholarship recipients. We will soon announce the first winner of the new $25,000 LAF Research Grant in Honor of Deb Mitchell. Our CSI teams are developing case studies of nine exemplary landscape projects, and the 2019-2020 LAF Fellows for Innovation and Leadership are continuing to advance their projects as their fellowship year winds down and we prepare to welcome the incoming cohort.
To support distance learning, provide CEUs, or simply inform and inspire, LAF has free resources available with new webinars coming soon.
As thought leaders that you rely on for innovation and foresight, we will keep working to make sense of these changes and what it means for the future of landscape architecture, as well as what we can all do to help our communities and this awe-inspiring, beautiful planet that is our home.
We thank you for your continued support and your creativity, courage, and optimism during this time. We will keep advancing our shared values because we know that landscape architecture has the power to transform the world.   Take care,

Survey: 10 Years of the Landscape Performance Series

In 2010, the Landscape
Architecture Foundation (LAF) debuted our Landscape
Performance Series
 to catalyze a
discipline-wide movement toward integration of landscape performance
planning, evaluation, and reporting in practice and education. We want to
hear from you to understand how landscape performance has made an impact.

Please take 5 minutes to tell
us about how landscape performance has played a role in your work and
influenced the landscape architecture discipline. The survey closes on March

Over the last 10 years, we’ve
worked hard to provide resources, research opportunities, and trainings
to help designers, educators, students, land managers, agencies, and
advocates evaluate performance and make the case for sustainable
landscape solutions. Countless individuals have contributed their time
and talents to this effort.
To mark the 10th anniversary of the Landscape
Performance Series
, we are collecting and sharing stories of
its impact. If landscape performance has helped you in your career,
projects, research, site management, or advocacy, we’d love to hear from
